In Ghost of Yotei, exploring the vast northern wilderness reveals hidden sanctuaries that offer both rest and valuable character progression. Hot Springs serve as crucial landmarks scattered across various regions, allowing the protagonist Atsu to bathe, reflect, and permanently enhance her capabilities. Tracking down every single one of these steaming pools is essential for maximizing your survivability against the threats waiting in the wilderness.

How Hot Springs Function and Global Rewards

Each time you discover and rest at a Hot Spring, Atsu receives a permanent increase to her maximum health pool. These steaming locations are often marked by distinct red trees and rising vapors, making them visible from a distance if you watch the horizon carefully. Finding and resting at all 16 hidden locations across the world rewards players with the unique Fundoshi Outfit, which completely eliminates footstep noise while sprinting.

Hot Springs of the Yotei Grasslands and Oshima Coast

The journey begins in the Yotei Grasslands, which houses four distinct pools including the coastal Horizon View Hot Spring and the secluded Yotei's Shadow Hot Spring. Players can also seek out the Wild Clearing Hot Spring near the Viper's Maw and the Hidden Cliff Hot Spring tucked away in the far north. Traveling down to the southern Oshima Coast reveals two more locations, namely the Distant Castle Hot Spring situated beneath fortress walls and the Cliff View Hot Spring overlooking the ocean.

Discoveries in the Ishikari Plains and Tokachi Range

The sprawling Ishikari Plains region features four additional springs hidden within its diverse terrain to reward thorough explorers. Adventurers will find the river-based Bear Rock Hot Spring, the bamboo-shrouded Kappa's Hot Spring, the high-altitude Smoky Mountains Hot Spring, and the northernmost Cloud View Hot Spring. Moving into the rugged mountains of the Tokachi Range unveils the Quiet Valley Hot Spring near the local inn and the Grassy Fields Hot Spring located further north.

Sanctuaries of the Teshio Ridge and Nayoro Wilds

The frozen environments of the Teshio Ridge offer three final thermal pools to help players combat the harsh climate elements. The Red Crane Inn Hot Spring requires a small fee for access, while the Black Bowl Hot Spring and the high Valley View Hot Spring require careful climbing. Lastly, the compact Nayoro Wilds contains a single sanctuary known as the Cave Path Hot Spring, which is reached by navigating a trail of blooming white flowers through a rocky cavern arch.
